Bombay Beach

This was part of the unusual road trip. Continuing with the 'B' theme, we went to Bombay Beach on the edge of the Salton Sea.

This photo is unretouched. This really is what the sky looked like at dawn.	Bombay Beach is a strange place where some people live and some buildings are abandoned.	This is the dike that protects the main part of town from flooding.
These structures are sinking into the muck.	I guess that used to be a mobile home - before it sank. This whole area was just depressing.	I guess this is a trailer park. Or an RV park. Or a home for strange pigs.	I don't know who Pearn Stewart is but someone is has put a lot of effort into making this sign.
This is a memorial to one of Bombay Beach's more colorful residents. He died when his dune buggy was hit while he was doing a u-turn on the freeway.
