Salton Sea

We went to the Salton Sea. This is a very strange place.

At one point, this was supposed to be California's version of the French Riveria.	Those dreams did not come true.	This is a public pier.	This is what the water looks like. This is pretty rank.
		There are mobile home scatterede about.	There isn't much in the way of business in Salton City. Most of it looks like this, abandoned.
This was a motel.	Every so often, there is a house that looks like someone lives there who cares about trying to make the place look nice.	Most of Salton City looks something like this. I think this is the area where the nightclub fell into the water.		Dead end roads, and roads leading nowhere, are common.
	This is the Sidewinder Golf Course which has no grass, only dirt and sand.	The whole area has utilities. There are a lot of empty lots with fire hydrants strategically placed. However, there are no structures to protect against fire.
		This is another in the series of black dogs we encountered on this trip. This one lives in the Chamber of Commerce building.	These are panoramic shots.
