For the second year in a row, San Francisco MUNI has the dubious honor of #1 accident rate in the nation. The report came out on the same day that a speeding bus careened into a bus shelter and sent four people to the hospital. That goes to show that it isn't necessary to be riding a Muni bus to be injured by one. The man who's house is at the bottom of the hill below a Muni parking lot knows that. His house has been hit three times by buses parked without their parking brakes set. Enough on transportation...

This week was St. Patrick's day. I didn't realize it until I went to buy my morning coffee from a pierced man with a cardboard shamrock taped to his head. This didn't strike me as unusual until I noticed that his co-coffee-vendor had also shamrocked his forehead. Two shamrocked foreheads in one place meant something. I knew it must be a holiday.
