I tried making another Fez. This one is more fez-like but it still didn't work quite right.
I cast on 80 stiches, two strands of Brown Sheep Company Lamb's Pride worstd, Blue Blood Red, #13 circular needles.
I went in a circle. I did a few rows of purl the brim which ended up creating a more lumpy brim. My intention had been for the stockinetts to not curl but I ended up with a lumpy brim, instead. Near the top, I did a few decreases to do a bit of shaping. I ended with 69 stitches. I should have done one row purl as a turning row. Instead, I just started doing a wheel pattern for the top.
My intention was that the top would be a flat circle. What I got instead was more a lump. I threw the hat in the washing machine a few times & tried to shape it by putting a small pot lid inside. It mostly worked.
The final result is still too small for an adult.
