Cell Phone Cosy
This was a silly little project that I finished in about two days. I got a new cell phone. The old one had gotten pretty beat up over the years. I just wanted something that would keep the new phone from being scratched.
I cast on four stitches on #3 needles. I increased at the end of every right side row until it got to be something like 16 stitches wide. Then I knit straight for a while. Then I cast on an additional 16 stitches and joined the work into a circle. I knit two rows of garter stitch (so the top won't curl). Then I knit a tube until it seemed long enough. At the end, I used kitchener stitch to put the ends together.
I added a velcro closing for easy open/close. The velcro was attached with a hot melt glue gun.
