It seems to me that I'm knitting a lot of things that are derivatives of other projects. This scarf is a follow up to a previous scarf. This is a gift. I made it with Classic Elite Inca Alpaca (~5 skeins). I did 60 stitches across on #9 needles.
This is a horizontal herringbone stitch. This works over a multiple of two stitches. RS: *SL1, K1, go back and knit the slipped stitch * WS: P1, *P2tog but don't take them off the needles, go back and purl the first stitch again, then take them off the needles *, P1
I used 5 balls of yarn. The final result was this plus 60" long for a total of 66.5" long.
This is a comparison of my previous scarf with this one. The new scarf is 60 stitches wide compared to the 40 stitches of the previous scarf.
This is what the wrong side looks like.
