I made another tam
After the first tam I made was too small, I tried again. For the first tam, I cast on 144 stitches, knit seven wedges and ended up with a 10.5" diameter tam which was too small...except the base which was too big!
This time, I did nine wedges. I cast on 108 stitches for a very small head opening. After the border was done, I increased to 234 stitches (9 divisions of 26 stitches each). I blocked the tam over an oversize dinner plate.
While the overall size was much better, the head opening was still too big. It slips & slides on the wearer's head. I'm not sure what to do about this...any ideas for making a tam that will stick on a head? Any ideas, please drop me some email.
